“…do not waste your strength on women, on those who ruin kings. It is not for kings, O Lemuel, to guzzle wine.
Rulers should not crave alcohol. For if they drink, they may forget the law and not give justice to the oppressed” Proverbs 31:3-5
This verse tells Lemuel and every young person to not waste their time and energy on frivolous relationships. Lemuel’s mother also knew that alcohol would mess up his thinking, especially as a king. If you are a leader whether you are a older sibling or president of the United states you need make sure that your brain is fully functioning so you can make the right decisions and be mindful of all the people you are leading otherwise the ones who follow may stumble along with you.
