Leaders

Have you ever wanted to be a leader among your friends, in church, at school, or other social functions? How much do you think it takes to get to be one? How long does it take to get to be one? Everybody wants to be in charge over somebody, its a basic human desire, though Jesus does not define leadership that way. He said “But you are not to be like that. Instead the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves.” ( Luke 22:26) In John 12:4-17, Jesus washed his disciples feet which was the work of a servant. Those who serve are automatically leaders because they are setting an example for those around him/her and the person who is being served, which is reflected when Peter objects to having his feet washed.  (hmmm sounds like some of us doesn’t it?) Another example of leadership is in Ezra 7:10 “For Ezra had devoted himself to the study and observance of the Law of the Lord, and to teaching its decrees amd laws in Israel.” Ezra constantly meditated on the Scriptures and taught them to others, so he was a great leader in this time of the Jews exile in Babylon. He also lead his people in the right way because he knew the right way to lead. Ezra lead the Jews when they came back to Jerusalem. I hope that these examples help you in being a Godly leader.
